FreshGrade: More Than Just a Digital Portfolio
Limited Capacity seats available

Want to learn about FreshGrade as a digital portfolio? Did you know that you can use FreshGrade for your markbook? Attach lesson plans? I will show how I used FreshGrade for the past year with my class as well as some tips and tricks to make a smooth implementation in your class. Laptop/Chromebook will work best for this session, but I will show how Ipad/Iphones can be used to capture student work. This session fits into the Augmentation/Modification range of the SAMR model. You will need access to FreshGrade to work/play/try the tool, however, not necessary.

Make Learning Visible and Engage Parents with ePortfolios
Limited Capacity seats available

It all started with a simple word, “nothing.”
“Nothing” is what millions of parents hear every day when they ask their kids what they did at school. Very rarely will excessive poking or prodding produce an acceptable answer, let alone initiate a meaningful conversation.
In addition to the above, District Superintendents are telling us that, "traditional report cards are highly ineffective; not informative, create huge workloads for teachers, and fail to communicate the complexity of the learning process." With all that in mind, the challenge was how to use technology to open a perpetual window into the classroom while simultaneously engaging parents in a meaningful way. Over time, our focus on parent engagement seamlessly merged with simplifying quality assessment and communicating learning in the moment.
In this session, we will be demonstrating how teachers are utilizing secure mobile technologies and electronic portfolios as a means to:
Save Time – easily capture and share authentic evidence of learning
Communicate – give teachers a means of communicating more regularly and simply to parents
Engage – inform and involve students of their learning journey
Innovate – greatly improve on traditional forms of reporting
